It’s so strange to realise that your abuse is a while lot worse than you thought. Like, I know I was abused as a child, but I thought it wasn’t so bad because my parents never hit me or anything but then I talk to people and they look at me horrified at what I’ve been through and what it has actually done to me longterm, whereas its so mundane to me, and I start to requestion my whole existence
you know one thing i hate about getting better at coping with my problems is the fact that i know some people will see me and think i never struggled at all, and that i don’t really have the struggles i do. i don’t know why it bothers me. i guess it’s because it’s like erasing all the hard work i did to get to the point i’m at. i didn’t work on myself only to get told i was never in as bad a spot as i was. i worked to get to the way i am.
